Problem

When opening an Office application you are presented with a "Your subscription has expired" or "SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRED" message.  This could appear in any of the Office applications including, Word, Excel, Outlook.  The Dialog Dialogue and Notification bar looks like these.

Note

If these messages are ignored you might not be able to edit or save your documents.

Solution

  1. Close other MS Office leaving only one open.

  2. Click the Reactivate or Sign In button.

  3. At this point an attempt to automatically reactivate will be performed.  If you are prompted for credentials enter your full email address eg. "bgates16@fccc.vic.edu.au" and network password.

  4. You will then be presented with the following screen. Click Accept and start...

  5. The Last step is to close and reopen any Office applications.
NoteWe believe this problem is related to the recent Office 365 and OneDrive Maintenance. And should only need to be done once.
  1. Reopen any Office application and check activation.
