Windows - Setup a New Windows Device to use at school
Background
At Flinders, students are recommended to sign into their Windows 11 laptop using their school Microsoft account during the initial setup. If you have already set up your laptop, please visit the tech office for assistance.
If your laptop has Windows 10 or Windows 11 Home edition. Please contact your campus tech office to request assistance in upgrading your computer to Windows 11 Education at no cost.
Step-by-step guide
Complete the initial setup steps
Country or Region = Australia
Keyboard layout = US
Your computer will now reboot this will take a couple of minutes.
When your computer has rebooted, you will be asked to rename your device or skip to keep the default name.
On the “How would you like to setup this device?” please select Set up for work or school
On the Sign in page enter your full flinders email address (jsmith30@fccc.vic.edu.au)
Once you have entered your email you will be redirected to the Flinders authentication page to enter your password.
Next you will need to select your Windows privacy settings feel free to adjust your privacy settings as need or except the defaults and continue.
Your computer will now complete its setup without any additional interactions, this will take another 5-10 minutes.
