This section will help you connect your own computer, tablet or smartphone to the Flinders BYOD network, Moodle, Printing, and other online tools. If you have tried the steps below try visiting the article Troubleshooting Flinders network for assistance.

Conditions of Use

By connecting to the Flinders Network, you agree to abide by the FCCC conditions of use, and you acknowledge that your activities may be monitored, including (but not limited to) the college keeping a record of the websites you visit while connected to the network.

  • Follow these steps to connect to the FCCC wireless network:

    1. Turn on Wi-Fi on your device.

    2. In the list of available (or discovered) networks, select FCCC.

    3. Enter your Flinders username in the Username space (called "Identity" on some devices). E.g. wsmith27

    4. Enter your Flinders password in the Password space.

  • Click on this Certificate link.

    Tip

    If you see a warning prompt, click the Keep button.

  • Click on the downloaded Flinders_Root_CA.crt file to open it:

  • In the Certificate window, click the Install Certificate... button:

  • Click the Next button:

  • Select the 'Place all certificates in the following store option, then click the Browse... button:

  • Select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities certificate store, then click the OK button:

    With the certificate installed, your Windows browser should now be able to access the internet to perform searches in Google etc.

  • Follow these steps to connect to the FCCC wireless network:
    1. Turn on Wi-Fi on your device.

    2. In the list of available (or discovered) networks, select FCCC.

    3. Enter your Flinders username in the Username space (called "Identity" on some devices). E.g. wsmith27

    4. Enter your Flinders password in the Password space.

  • From the Safari Browser download this file FCCC_WiFi.mobileconfig.
    Open the file
  • Open the Profiles System Preferences, 

    • Press Command+Space bar to open spotlight and type Profiles.

    You can now close the System Preferences/Profiles window.

    Open the Keychain Access app Image Removed

    • Press Command-Space bar to open spotlight.

  • Select the logon keychain and the certificates tab.

  • Double-click the "Flinders CC College Root CA" certificate.

  • Next to Trust, click the arrow Image Removed to display the trust policies for the certificate.

  • On the dropdown menu Next to "When using this certificate:" Select "Always Trust"

  • Exit the Certificate settings by clicking the red dot.

  • Use your fingprint or password to allow the changes.

  • Follow these steps to connect to the FCCC wireless network:

  • Make sure you follow these instructions on your Safari browser

    Click this file FCCC_WiFi.mobileconfig. Then press Allow on the popup

    Follow these steps to connect to the FCCC wireless network:

    1. Turn on Wi-Fi on your device.

    5. Under CA Certificate,

      • Choose "Select certificate"

    6. Click / Tap Connect

    7. A pop up may appear. Select trust the connection, keep connected or always connect whichever is appropriate.

    Use any web browser complete the steps below. 
  • Click on this link Certificate to download the college certificate. Note the location the Certificate is saved to

  • Open settings,

  • Scroll down and tap on Security & privacy or simply Security. The names and following steps might vary slightly depending on your Android version and manufacturer.

  • Enter your PIN or fingerprint,

  • Find the certificate in your "Downloads" folder Flinders_Root_CA.crt, Select it and press Done.

    You may see the below warning once connected, please disregard it. This is caused by the colleges web-filter causing an indirect internet connection.
